Chicken Marinade
- 1 lb chicken breast- skinless, boneless
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 cup green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped garlic
- In a 4.2 ltr freshvacTM container, whisk together marinade ingredients, add chicken. Secure handles and press down on center of lid 2 -3 times to create vacuum seal. You can infuse the marinade more quickly by creating the vacuum seal over and over.
- Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

Lettuce Wrap Ingredients
- 1 head Bibb or Iceberg lettuce –
- separate and wash leaves, dry with paper towel
- 2 carrots, julienne sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, julienne sliced
- 1 cup snow peas, julienne sliced
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup bottled spicy Asian chili sauce
- Can prepare the above, combine in freshvacTM 2.4 ltr container with dividers,
- and refrigerate overnight.
Assembly
- Remove freshvac container of chicken breast from refrigerator.
- Open vacuum valve and microwave on high power for 5-6 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
- Let chicken stand for 1 minute.
- Remove and slice into strips.
- Fill each lettuce leaf with several strips of chicken breast, and assorted vegetables, and onions.
- Drizzle with spicy chili sauce.
- Roll like a burrito to enclose.
- Note: Microwave power and container size may vary cook time.

- Condensation on a freshvac lid is normal, especially in the refrigerator. If large droplets occur, dry the lid and reseal. This will prevent moisture from affecting your food.

Foods for your freezer must have proper packaging material to protect their flavor, color, moisture content and nutritive value from the dry climate of the freezer. freshvac is perfect for freezing, because it has the following characteristics:

Preparing food ahead of time and freezing in freshvac containers can save time, energy and money. When you are preparing a main dish, it takes only a little more effort and time to make enough for several meals. You can freeze large batches in meal-size freshvac containers, or serve part of the food immediately and freeze the rest. Consider freezing in freshvac:
- Leftovers that cannot be used immediately.
- Seasonal fruits and vegetables.
- Foods that can be prepared in large quantities and portioned according to serving size.
TIPS FOR FREEZING
- Be sure to leave adequate space at the top of the freshvac container to allow for freezing expansion.
- Slightly undercook prepared foods before freezing in freshvac. They will finish cooking when reheated.
- Plan to use frozen, prepared foods within a short time. Keep using foods from the freezer and replenish with fresh stock. This makes greater use of freezer space, lowers the cost per pound of food stores and keeps your store of food fresh.
- A good policy to follow is "first in, first out." Rotate foods so that you use the older items first and enjoy your food at its best quality. A dry erase marker or grease pencil will work great for dating freshvac containers.
- The temperature of the freezer should not go above 0° F. Fluctuating temperatures and temperatures above 0° F reduce quality of the freeze.
- Foods that do not freeze well include mayonnaise, cream puddings and fillings, custard, gelatin salads, cheese, the whites of hard-cooked eggs and uncooked egg yolks, and gravies made with wheat flour.
- Choose freshvac containers according to the number of servings you will want. A quart container (1000 ML) holds four to six servings; or our nearly 3 cup container (630 ML), two to three.
